Do I need to teach a certain number of hours/days?

We do not mandate a specific number of educational hours for our students, as this is a decision best made by the parents/home educators. Our students do need to complete 180 "days of education" per calendar year, which is a Florida Department of Education requirement.

What documentation do I need to provide?

When enrolling with Applewood for the first time you will be required to submit a copy of your child's birth certificate, immunization record, and school entry health form.

Yearly attendance records are required every 365 days. These are very simple! You will be provided with a calendar form in your Welcome Packet that can be used to keep track of your child's required 180 days of education.

Will my child need to take standardized testing?

  • We do not mandate that our students take any form of standardized testing

  • We do offer optional assessment testing services if you would like a guideline for choosing your curriculum or would like a better understanding of your child's academic level
